FAQ

Tea

1. How do I prepare loose leaf tea?

There isn’t one way to prepare all loose leaf tea, as each tea requires different water temperature and/or infusion time. You should follow the directions given for each tea and you can always adjust accordingly to your own liking. If a short steep in cooler water isn’t strong enough, then try a slightly longer steep in slightly hotter water.

In general:

o   Use a pinch of tea.

o   Use water at the right temperature.

o   Warm up your tea pot/gaiwan and tea cup.

o   Rinse the tea leaves quickly.

o   Steep the tea leaves for 45-60 seconds for the first infusion.

o   Re-infuse tea leaves, most teas can be re-infused at least 3 times.

o   Enjoy your tea!

2. What is the shelf life of tea?

For optimal freshness, keep your teas in a cool, dry and dark place and consume within 2 years.

3. Do you use flavouring in your tea?

No, we believe excellent artisan teas do not require any artificial (or additional) flavouring, we like to let the fine natural flavour of these teas speak for themselves.

4. Where does your tea come from?

We source our tea from small tea farms in China (or Taiwan). The tea plant Camellia Sinensis originates from China and flourishes in the tropical climate. We aim to offer you with the pure and authentic taste of Chinese artisan teas, tea grown in the right conditions, handpicked by skilled tea pickers and hand-processed by dedicated passionate artisans following age-old traditions.

5. What’s the difference between tea and herbal tea?

Tea is made from the Camellia Sinensis plant. Herbal tea, however, is not made with leaves from the Camellia Sinensis. It is made either with fruits, herbs and/or flowers and is therefore also caffeine-free.

6. Do you have detox tea?

We don’t believe tea alone can make you lose weight. We promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle and believe drinking tea is a healthy (and delicious!) habit to add to your daily routine. Pu Erh and Oolong teas are known to have positive benefits for your digestion.
